Mary Imbornone, M.Ed.Academy Faculty

    Mary Imbornone, M.Ed., is a learning and organizational development specialist with more than 40 years of experience in human services and employee training. In 2022, Imbornone launched a consulting practice after retiring from her role as national director of learning and organizational development at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. Today, she assesses, coaches and conducts development planning with executive and emerging leaders from Devereux while also supporting their ongoing Servant Leadership efforts.

    As one of the founding members of Devereux’s National Servant Leadership Committee, Imbornone was responsible for developing the curriculum for, and launching, Servant Leadership training for the organization’s more than 6,500 employees. She planned and executed in-person training sessions across 14 Devereux centers, created online refresher courses and facilitated interactive
    virtual training sessions for supervisors and managers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Imbornone joined Devereux in 1984 as a residential supervisor in Massachusetts. She held various roles of increasing responsibility with the nonprofit in both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. In 1997, she was named national director of training and development, and in 2008, she was promoted to national director of learning and organizational development. Imbornone also has held positions
    with the Boltwood-Belchertown Project, Belchertown State School and the Bureau of Institutional Schools in Massachusetts.

    Imbornone is certified in numerous leadership assessments, including the DiSC model, Hogan Leadership Assessments and multiple 360 assessments developed by the Center for Creative Leadership. She has served on multiple professional boards for training organizations and nonprofits. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts, and Cambridge College
    in Boston.

    Imbornone resides with her husband in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She is an avid organic gardener and enjoys reading, swimming and spending time outdoors with her family.
