DR. KENT M. KEITH
Dr. Kent M. Keith is the Chief Executive Officer of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. He has been an attorney, a state government official, a high tech park developer, a university president, a YMCA executive, and a full-time speaker and author. Dr. Keith earned a B.A. in Government from Harvard University, an M.A. in Philosophy and Politics from Oxford University in England, a Certificate in Japanese from Waseda University in Japan, a J.D. from the University of Hawaii, and an Ed. D. from the University of Southern California. He is a Rhodes Scholar. He has received Honorary Doctorates from Chaminade University of Honolulu and Tusculum College of Greeneville, Tennessee.
Dr. Keith is known internationally as the author of the Paradoxical Commandments, which he first published in 1968 in a booklet for student leaders. During the past seven years he has published four books related to the commandments, including Anyway: The Paradoxical Commandments, which became a national bestseller and was translated into 17 languages. He is also the author of The Case for Servant Leadership, published in 2008 by the Greenleaf Center. Over the years, Dr. Keith has given more than 900 conference papers, presentations, and seminars. He has been featured on the front page of The New York Times and in People magazine, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, and Family Circle. He has appeared on dozens of TV shows and more than 100 radio programs in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. DOLORES JONES
Dolores is Program Coordinator. She joined the Greenleaf Center in May 2008. Dolores graduated from Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, where she was a photographer and writer for the yearbook, and a member of several honor societies. She earned a B.A. in Anthropology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was again a member of several honor societies. During her college years she was a student tutor at the Maywood Police Department, providing tutoring to five under-privileged youth; Concessions Supervisor for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, supervising and teaching volunteers; and a receptionist for the University YMCA, responsible for time sheets, class rosters, and check-in/check-out procedures.
LEANNE YODER
LeAnne Yoder joined the Greenleaf Center at the end of 2007 as our Publications Coordinator. She was born and raised in Indiana. She attended Fox Secretarial College, and then worked for Amoco Corporation in Chicago as Senior Administrative Secretary in the Human Resources Department, a job that involved coordinating travel, meetings, and the implementation of various training programs throughout the world. She also assisted in a corporate study that involved daily interaction with senior executives. Later, she became an Administrative Assistant in the Defined Benefits Department of Hewitt Associations in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where she worked on internal training programs, provided team support, and maintained calendars for senior partners. LeAnne and her husband have three children who keep her busy.
LIZ MADRID
Liz Madrid joined the Greenleaf Center in March 2010 as the Speakers Bureau Coordinator. She graduated from West High School in Torrance, California, and studied sociology at El Camino College. She worked for Electronic Data Services, and then served as Office Manager for 10 years in her own business, a Lexus & Toyota automotive repair company, where she scheduled mechanics and provided customer service and sales support. She subsequently served as Office Manager for a mattress company, training and supervising the staff, dispatching drivers, and assisting the President of the company in scheduling meetings and travel. In 2006, she moved to Indiana, where she worked as a customer service representative at National City Bank before joining the Greenleaf Center. Liz and her husband have a daughter and a son. She enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and reading novels.
COURTNEY KNIES
Courtney is a 2010 graduate of DePauw University as a sociology major. While in college, she was a Bonner Scholar, which allowed her to serve at the Hartman House for Civic Engagement, Peace Lutheran School, YMCA After-School Program, America Reads, and Habitat for Humanity. She is currently Program Coordinator at the Greenleaf Center. She also interned with the Greenleaf Center and Huntingburg Foundation while at DePauw. She received the I. Nelle Barnhart Student Life Award at DePauw. She has been a camp counselor at Wyonegonic Camps for Girls in Denmark, Maine, Camp Henry F. Koch in Cannelton, Indiana, and TimberWolf Lake in Lake City, Michigan. Additionally, Courtney is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts, receiving her Gold and Silver Awards (the highest member awards). She enjoys spending time volunteering with Young Life, visiting her family in Southern Indiana, and staying in touch with her friends.
